Shark® Steam Mop

The Shark Steam Mop Vs. The Smart Mop
Does anyone know about the HAAN steam cleaner? - Democratic

Mopping the floor is a PAIN- always has been, always will be, but for germ-a-phobes like me it’s a little more difficult because I want to be sure that my floor is as clean as possible.

I have textured tile (you know, the kind with the slight bumps and ridges along each tile’s surface) so my first thought was to get the Shark Steam Mop.

You’ve all seen one- they have them at Target, Walmart, and even in the Sky Mall catalogs. They’re about $70-$80 (based on a quick Google shopping search)

Product specs from their website:

Make dirty floors a thing of the past. With triple-layer, steam-activated micro-fiber pads, the Shark® Steam Mop loosens, lifts, and locks in dirt. What’s more, its super-heated steam sanitizes floors, killing harmful germs and E. coli. And the Steam Mop does it all without the use of harmful chemicals – making it an ideal choice around pets and children. Think your current mop can do that?

With the Shark® Steam Mop, you’ll enjoy:

  • On-demand steam – natural mopping motion delivers super-heated steam in just 30 seconds, and dries almost immediately
  • 99.9% sanitization against germs and bacteria
  • 2 washable micro-fiber pads lift and lock in dirt – no more messy mops and heavy buckets
  • A soft-grip handle and comfortable design that make it easy to maneuver without physical strain
  • A quick-release cord – easily store and release the 20-foot power cord
  • Safe cleaning on hard-floor surfaces – especially hardwood floors

Included Accessories:

  • 2 Micro-Fiber Pads
  • Filling Flask & Funnel

I used it for a while but I HATED IT. The INSTANT I was done steam mopping (with a clean pad of course) I got on the floor and did my “paper towel test”- STILL DIRTY. UGH!

Then I saw the technology behind the Sham Wow’s. That will be a separate post so I won’t give it away but you’re smart so I’m sure you’ll figure out my verdict on it.

So I though, well, I’ll try the Smart Mop. $14.99 at Walgreens.

The mop with a twist!

This is the same mop you’ve seen on national TV; the same mop that miraculously makes spills disappear in seconds! That’s right! The mop quickly cleans up all kinds of spills, even sand and dirt, and still rinses clean in seconds. Features a heavy duty 3-piece pole construction, holds up to 10 times its weight in liquid and its easy wring action means no backbreaking bending over and no more wet hands. Plus, the unique cleaning fabric is super absorbent on all surfaces so cleaning time is cut dramatically. Throw away those ordinary sponges and rag mops that can shred, streak and scratch because the amazing Smart Mop makes everyday mopping obsolete!

I used the Steam Floor Mop

That I mentioned before. First time. It really worked very very well.
For anyone who has a linolium, tile or sealed hardwood floors that need cleaning often, I recommend it. You can't use floor cleaner with the machine, the steam does the job by itself and cleaner will muck up the process.
I bought extra washable pads (it comes with 2, I bought 2 extra).
The pads wash very easily. I orginally planed to put them in the machine, but found it was VERY easy to wash them by hand.
You can buy an adapter to steam carpets. I haven't bought that -- yet, I might go ahead and make that purchase since I'm pretty happy with the machine so far

    • Avoid like the plague.

Get a little Yamaha, Honda, Vespa - a recognisable brand (and not a cheap Chinese bike). They will be more reliable, easier to fix, hold their value better, and you can raid the
Advice? Just relax. Even a twist-and-go scooter is great fun to ride, as long as you're careful.
