UPS Now Wholly Owned in Vietnam

UPS said today that it has become the first global express delivery company to be wholly owned in Vietnam, following its acquisition of the 49 percent interest of VN Post Express in the two companies’ express delivery joint venture.

In line with its global expansion strategy, UPS has invested in new facilities and technology in commercial and industrial sectors across Vietnam, including Ba Ria, Binh Duong, Hai Duong and Bac Ninh provinces.

“Wholly owned operations will give us the flexibility to further expand our operations and grow in partnership with Vietnamese businesses, ” said Jeff McLean, general director of UPS Vietnam, in a written statement.

I mean Yamaha Zuma kind of scooters.

2006-04-26 12:44:55 by manchild

What I meant was something like the Yamaha Zuma 49cc scooter. It means "motor-driven cycle" then, right?
Just to make sure. I still need to take a test/course (either from DMV or MSF) and get a M1 or M2 license if I wanna ride this kind of 49cc scooter on the road in CA, right?
P.S. I am asking because in Illinois, we only need the regular class L driver's license to operate a motorcycle under 150cc.

  • Avatar Tomek What sort of license do I need to drive a moped in vietnam?
Mar 20, 2012 by Tomek | Posted in Other - Vietnam

I'm planning on going to vietnam in the summer, and I would like to rent a moped to travel around. I was wondering, what I would need to be able to drive a moped in vietnam. I currently have a UK provisional driving license. Would I need a CBT etc?

    • As for foreigners are visiting to vietnam, they can rent moped or a motorbike to getting around the city and sightseeing is not a problem..with your current driver license in Europe is ok too...unless you're afraid to drive then you can getting around the city with 'xe om' motorbike taxi...the minimum fare for that is 10,000vnd and up...

  • Avatar colin R How much would a used motorbike/moped cost (to buy) in Vietnam?
    May 12, 2010 by colin R | Posted in Other - Vietnam

I'm planning a reasonably long trip with a friend in Vietnam and we plan to buy motorcycles and possibly sell them before we return home.

Does anybody know how much it would cost to buy one and how easy would the process be?

Or alternatively is it possible to rent one from a company that would let drop it off at another branch in another city? Do these types of companies exist in Vietnam?

    • In addition to your impending death or dismemberment, as my friend Buon Giorno has kindly pointed out, you're unlikely to get more than a few kilometers down the road before the Kanh Sat pulls you over for driving an unre …stored Honda Cub 50 costs about $100 USD. You don't need a license for a 50cc bike, but you do need a plate.
The good news is that buses are cheap, even when paying "foreign, round eyed devil" prices. LOL
