Recommendation on 2 stroke high quality oil

2004-03-28 01:32:31 by sparkalina

For my scooter.
I haven't had to add any since I purchased it last September due to being in storage for winter and now it's time to add some to the tank (separate oil receptable)
Anyway, the store manager said high quality, but I know when I get to the auto store I'm going to be standing in front of an entire aisle of motor oil.
Any brands stand above the rest?
If it matters the oil that is in the tank is blue-ish and take it easy on me, I'm learning motor scooter engine repair slowly.
Now give me postal jeep or volkswagen and I can fix it, but my scooter has such tiny parts with crappy access

2 stroke motors are very easy to maintain

The only maintence really needed is occasionaly changing the points and cleaning the carburator. There are a few scooter shops in the city that do maintainace but its easy to learn on your own. It's also handy to cary some spare spark plugs as they are known to foul. You also need to mix 2-cycle oil in with the gas.

  • Avatar Harry Good 50cc supermoto motorbikes?
Oct 28, 2012 by Harry | Posted in Motorcycles

I am coming up 16 and looking to get a moped but just not a scooter and yes i know they are cheaper and better for my age etc but i am just looking at things like the aprilla Mx 50, Kawasaki CPI 50 and the generic trigger. Any others please?
I would like to know lots of different motorbikes so that i can see which ones are best.

    • The CPI and the Generic are cheap, poorly made unreliable Chinese crap. Avoid them, no matter how cheap they are.

Apart from the Aprilia MX-50, you may want to consider:
      Aprilia SX-50
Derbi Se …ed to less than 31mph. Otherwise you are riding uninsured and not in accordance with your licence.

You won't know which one's best, until you have owned it for a while. But never, ever buy a Chinese bike...

I have a 2010 Rieju RS 50 with an Arrow performance exhaust. My bike is fitted with a liquid-cooled AM6 Engine. It is de-restricted and I am currently getting speeds of around 60MPH. (clocked by my dads car)
http:// …this. I understand the engine size is small and the bike is not made for it, I was just asking the community if it was possible, and safe with the correct parts and the correct TLC for the bike, nothing more nothing less.

    • How many times do we see questions like this on Yahoo Answers each day?

I have this little 50cc scooter. It's slow. I want to make it faster.

Guess what, it is slow for a couple of reasons. M …h faster than your tiny 50cc scooter could ever hope to be. And since the drive line components of this larger bike will be matched to the power of the larger engine from the factory, it will be a much more reliable ride.
