Scooters Oakland

Maybe you have seen the little gas and electric powered scooters in the streets around Oaktown. There has been a LOT of e-mailing about them as a "problem". (noise, safety, pollution ??)
I know the Segway was banned from the sidewalks of San Francisco. Is Oakland next?
Anyways, there appears to be a public meeting or "press conference" about them tomorrow:

I never could figure out why scooters haven't taken off in the States. I mean, in almost any other country, scooters are *everywhere* in the cities. Asian countries, they're like swarming mosquitoes. Paris...Rome...they're like all over the place.
Lately, I've seen an unusual presence of them around here. Strangely enough...it seems that well-dressed grown men are driving them around more. I can't figure it out. It's as if there's been an influx of Italian restaurant owners, bringing their Italian scooters. Dark wavy hair...white shirt...you get the image.
I think it's great

  • Avatar yzrider882000 Is there a website where I can find parts for a 1980 Sachs moped?
    Nov 28, 2008 by yzrider882000 | Posted in Motorcycles

I inherited the moped from a friend of mine, he lost interest and now I am looking for tubes, a carb rebuild kit, a flywheel cover and possibly a new air filter and airbox. Can anyone tell me where to look? I greatly appreciate it, thank you. Yes, even I need help sometimes :-D

    • You can do a parts request on keep tons of parts in stock at their warehouse.

Hey everyone, im a 19 year old girl, just moved to australia and bought a moped and my moped broke because the coil needs to be replaced. The mechanics are too expensive. I can only afford 70 bucks. So im well capable of …'s not in the manual.) Could someone please tell me how to find this out, or can someone send me a link as to where to purchase the correct coil for my particular model'd moped??

    Thanks so much, im desperate.

    • The only place that will have that coil is the shop you bought the bike from, or a store that sells those machines and thier parts. Type SACHS CITY 150 cc moped in the web search box, even if you order it trom another countrty it will get there. iM hoping you are sure what it is you nned
